September 7, 2006Bidness is Pickin' UpNot that business was ever that bad, but it seems like my freelance web site and house call business is really picking up steam lately. I'm picking up new clients left and right and continuing to do lots of work for current clients. It's pretty neat that some of my very first website clients here in Richmond are still coming to me on a pretty regular basis to have enhancements and additions done to their sites. It's a good feeling knowing that they trust me to do their work. I still sometimes wonder if this side-work business will ever become a full-time deal for me. I often think that I probably wouldn't be satisfied doing just this. I need to keep myself busy with a day job and other stuff on the side. On the other hand, if one would pay enough, I might be inclined to give up the other. I recently updated my portfolio list a bit, removing some sites that aren't up anymore and adding some that I've recently done. I broke down and added a site I recently did at Martin for our MVP Group for a golf tournament. I got to flex my knowledge of setting up a Pay Pal-enabled shopping system a little, which was fun. The design was created by Elevation Advertising, some really nice and talented guys here in Richmond, and I hacked up some code to put it all together.
